Artist Statement 

I chose to design my mask with organic shapes. I was inspired by the black dress the model is wearing in the above photo. I was drawn to the movement of the dress. I wanted the same movement  in my mask. During our research phase I read about glowing candles in western art and how it is a reminder of Christ's Passion. For me this is a reminder of the faith I have inside of me. At times my faith has been lost but I have this glowing candle as a reminder. For my photos I chose to use a flashlight as my glowing light and I placed it inside the mask as I wore it. It gave off a glowing light inside and it represents the glowing light with in me, my faith.
