Artist Statement 

For our map relief project, I drew inspiration from the artists we were given for our research as well as an old memory. The two-artist inspired me by the way they used the paper. The designs had detail and depth. I felt that the way they used the lines and shapes were modern and sleek. I also drew on a memory from the night I moved to Florida. I was on a red eye and feeling homesick. I looked out of the window and saw hundreds of lights that made up hundreds of squares. I remember thinking about the people that lived in those squares and what my new home would be like.
